Travelling has always been one of the biggest joy in our life, we are always curious to discover the world. We don’t mind comfortable 5-star hotels, but travelling in a campervan gives such a different feeling of freedom and adventure. We have travelled a lot in the past 20 years, usually in a rental camper and mainly with a Toyota Landcruiser – aka “bush taxi” – our preferred car to countries like Australia, New Zealand or Africa. However after a trip of 4 weeks we were always relieved to be able to return the rental car. We could not imagine ourselves doing a longer trip of a few months in such a small vehicle.
Therefore, after long consideration we chose the Unimog, as our compromise between size, comfort and offroad capability. We found a used one, but in top condition and took the leap. For the Unimog with 10,6 t max gross weight, „we“ had to pass a truck driver license – well, one of us.
Now we are looking forward to new adventures and will willingly transfer to 9 sqm living space …
